The Hong Kong Society for Microbiology and Infection is founded in 1994.
Our objectives are to facilitate the acquisition and dissemination of knowledge in the field of microbiology and infectious diseases.
We strive to promote communication and co-operation among those who are actively engaged in various aspects of education, research and service in microbiology and infectious diseases.
The HKSMI aims to establish and to facilitate communications with similar societies, both locally and abroad. We are an Associate Member of https://www.fmshk.org/
Our society is also a member of The Asia-Pacific Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infection (APSCMI) https://www.apscmi.net/ , of which APSCMI is a long-standing Member society of the International Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ISAC) https://www.isac.world/
